Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in baking who are looking to gain hands-on experience in a professional bakery environment.
You will receive structured on-the-job training while supporting daily production, equipping you with practical skills and industry knowledge in commercial baking.
Working Hours
- Wednesday to Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)
- Sunday: Half day
- Rest Days: Monday & Tuesday
- Timing/work days can be discuss as we want to create a work life balance to our team members
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients (measuring, weighing, mixing)
- Support production of cakes, pastries, and cookies
- Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers) under guidance
- Follow standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist in decorating, finishing, and packaging products
- Support inventory management, stock rotation (FIFO), and storage
- Comply with workplace safety and hygiene regulations
- Work closely with team members and report to the Head Baker
Requirements
- Interest in baking and food production
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Basic food hygiene knowledge is a plus (training provided)
- Eligible for SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme (MCPP)
