Job Purpose
The Kitchen Assistant supports the kitchen team by performing basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and assisting chefs with daily kitchen operations. This role is ideal for individuals who are hardworking, reliable, and interested in gaining experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients
• Support chefs during food service by organizing ingredients and utensils
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including workstations, floors, and storage areas
• Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment
• Ensure proper storage of food items according to hygiene and safety standards
• Dispose of waste and manage recycling according to company procedures
• Help receive and store food deliveries
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor

Qualifications and Skills Required:

• No formal education required; basic literacy preferred
• Previous kitchen or food service experience is an advantage but not mandatory
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is a plus
